Disclosed in an embodiment of the invention is a heartbeat cycle setting method, the method comprising: setting the heartbeat cycle of a testing application as T2 and performing a first heartbeat test; if the first heartbeat test fails, setting the heartbeat cycle of multiple applications as T1 and performing the heartbeat operation; if the first heartbeat test succeeds, setting the heartbeat cycle of a test application as T3 and performing a second heartbeat test; if the second heartbeat test fails, setting the heartbeat cycle of multiple applications as T2 and performing the heartbeat operation; if the second heartbeat test succeeds, setting the heartbeat cycle of the test application as T4 and performing a third heartbeat test, and T1＜T2＜T3＜T4. Also disclosed in the embodiment of the invention is a corresponding mobile terminal. Using the heartbeat cycle setting method and terminal of the invention enables each application to perform a heartbeat operation at the same time with the same heartbeat cycle, thus effectively reducing terminal energy consumption and signaling overhead, and reducing the load on the application server. |
