Disclosed in the present invention are a link health check method and device, the method comprising: receiving and saving the control information generated by the life-keeping procedure; matching the received message according to the control information and processing the successfully matched message and transmitting the processed message to the server to be checked; if a response message returned by the server to be checked is received, the corresponding link is determined to be healthy; and if no response message returned by the server to be checked is received, then the corresponding link is determined to be unhealthy. The embodiment of the present invention performs the above steps to check whether the link corresponding to the server to be checked is healthy, and is consistent with the process of a user accessing VLS, solving the problem of loss of flow and mistaken elimination of server, thus improving the accuracy of health check.
