The present invention provides a method and an apparatus for processing resending of a machine-type communication request. The method comprises: a network side sends a message to a machine-type communication (MTC) device, wherein the message carries an MTC request resending factor, and the MTC request resending factor is the basis upon which the MTC device determines to re-initiate an MTC service request. The present invention solves the problem in the related art of signaling congestion caused by the fact that a large number of MTC devices re-initiate MTC service requests, smoothes the time that the MTC device resends the MTC service request and effectively alleviates the signaling congestion. |
