The aid (10) has a microphone (18) coupled to a feedback canceller (22) over a pre-whitening filter (20), where the apparatus sets a frequency response of the pre-whitening filter based a signal of another microphone (28) and based on least-mean-square algorithm and Levinson-Durbin algorithm. An adaptive filter (30) is coupled to the pre-whitening filter, and determines filter coefficients for pre-whitening filtering based on the signal of the latter microphone, where the filter coefficients are transmitted to the pre-whitening filter by a communication connection (16). An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a hearing apparatus. |
