The present invention relates to a traffic signal apparatus, and more particularly, to a traffic signal apparatus capable of making traffic situation smooth by displaying a remaining time. The traffic signal apparatus includes: a signal display unit; a remaining time display unit; and a time controller. The signal display unit includes traffic lights displaying a traffic signal. The remaining time display unit includes indication lamps respectively displaying the remaining time of each of the lit traffic lights. When the remaining time reaches a single digit, the time controller transfers the remaining time to the remaining time display unit and thus displays the remaining time on the remaining time display unit. According to the present invention, the remaining time is displayed by the indication lamps respectively connected to the traffic lights, so a driver may easily recognize the traffic signals corresponding to the remaining time and may easily predict the next signal. Thus, accidents occurring in a signal switching process can be prevented and reduced. In addition, a traffic signal violation or a speeding can be effectively prevented by enhancing visibility by displaying the color of the lit traffic signals and the lit indication lamp with same color. |
