PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable satisfactory decoding processing associated with decoding capability on the reception side.SOLUTION: Image data of each picture constituting moving image data is hierarchically coded, so that a first video stream having the coded image data of a lower hierarchy-side picture, and a second video stream having the coded image data of a higher hierarchy-side picture, are generated. A level designation value of the first video stream is inserted into a NAL unit of SPS of the first video stream. To a multiplexed stream, a first descriptor in which the level designation value of the first video stream is inserted and a second descriptor in which the level specification value of a video stream obtained by combining the first video stream with the second video stream is inserted, are inserted together with hierarchy range information in each stream.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
