The present invention relates to a spot welding gun to quench a welding zone, and an operation method thereof. A spot welding gun to quench the welding zone comprises: a welding tip which is in contact with a metal plate material; an electrode base which has the welding tip fixated thereto, and a current applied to the welding tip; and a plurality of cooling nozzles which are provided in the electrode base to spray a cooling medium around a metal plate material and a contacting part of the welding tip. According to the present invention, provided are the spot welding gun to quench the welding zone and the operation thereof, wherein at the time of spot welding, a high tension steel plate around the welding zone is cooled by a cooling medium sprayed in the cooling nozzles; thereby preventing a durability of the welding zone from being weakened. |
