PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DFB laser device in which high reflectance of a Bragg grating and efficient coupling between active guide and passive guide are compatible.SOLUTION: A laser device 1 of group 3-5 heterostructure arranged in silicon and/or on silicon includes a gain medium 3 of group 3-5 heterostructure, and an optical rib waveguide 11 arranged oppositely thereto, in silicon having a slab waveguide provided with a longitudinal rib.
