PURPOSE:To eliminate temp. difference between molten metal side of side block and the reverse side and to prevent permanent deformation at upper and lower ends of the molten metal side of the block by arranging holes in the inner part of the side block and sealing heat medium in the holes. CONSTITUTION:The holes 2 for sealing the heat medium has function of heat pipe and when the side block 1 is brought into contact with the molten metal while shifting downward to connecting direction, the heat flowed in the block 1 from the molten metal through the surface 5 is carried to the reverse surface 5' with convection of the sealed heat medium and this steam, and the temp. difference at both sides of the block 1 is reduced. By this method, when the block 1 receives the heat from the molten metal, expanded by almost the same length to vertical direction and the permanent deformation caused by contacting at one side of the block and thermal stress is prevented. |
