PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that suppresses the influx of the ambient air to cause adherence of foreign substances to a detection sensor when cooling the detection sensor with an air flow.SOLUTION: A transfer unit 180M supports a conveyance belt 180 and is arranged opposite to a photoreceptor drum 121. A conveyance unit 1M and the transfer unit 180M are arranged with a predetermined gap therebetween. A density detection sensor 52 is arranged in the conveyance unit 1M opposite to the conveyance belt 180. An air flow for cooling generated by a Sirocco fan not illustrated flows into a cooling air path AP along a sheet width direction to cool the density detection sensor 52. A communication air path AF3 communicates the cooling air path AP with the periphery of the transfer unit 180M along a direction intersecting the axial direction. A first diversion part 70 causes a part of the air flow for cooling, which has flowed into the cooling air path AP from the Sirocco fan, to flow into the communication air path AF3. |
