EXTRUDED DEPOSITION OF FIBER REINFORCED POLYMERS

A fiber reinforced polymer component is manufactured by rastering a deposition head on a substrate, and additionally forming a component by extruding a polymer having an entrained continuous reinforcing material from the deposition head onto the substrate. A deposition manufacturing method comprises: establishing the compressed flow of a polymer; entraining a fiber reinforcing material in the compressed flow; and depositing the polymer and a bead of the fiber reinforcing material on the substrate.
