A torsional vibration damper (130) comprises an inlet (140), an outlet (150), and an intermediate mass (240) arranged between the inlet (140) and the outlet (150), and a first plurality of spring elements (230) which are coupled between the inlet (140) and the intermediate mass (240) and form a first stage of the torsional vibration damper (130), and a second plurality of spring elements (250) which are coupled between the intermediate mass (240) and the outlet (150) and form a second stage of the torsional vibration damper (130). The torsional vibration damper further comprises at least one damper mass (260) which is constructed to execute a vibration depending on the rotational movement in order to damp the vibrational portion of the rotational movement, wherein the first stage of the torsional vibration damper (130) has a progressive first characteristic curve (600) with at least one transition point (620), wherein the second stage of the torsional vibration damper (130) has a progressive second characteristic curve (600) with at least one transition point (620), and wherein all transition points (620) of the first characteristic curve of the first stage of the torsion vibration damper and of the second characteristic curve of the second stage of the torsional vibration damper are spaced apart from each other relative to the torque.
