Control device for a switching device with separate retraction and holding coil

The device (10) has a control electronics (16) activating a current supply to a start-up coil (14) and a holding coil (12). A direct voltage supply unit (18) supplies the holding coil and the electronics with a direct voltage with a same reference potential for the holding coil and the electronics. A rectifier generates a rectified output voltage from an alternating voltage for supplying the start-up coil. A direct voltage converter is connected to an output of the rectifier so as to generate specified direct voltage for the direct voltage supply unit from the output voltage of the rectifier. An independent claim is also included for a switching device.
