PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polishing tool which tremendously increases tool life and processes a brush contact surface portion of a commutator of a DC motor with a brush, and to provide a polishing method.SOLUTION: A tool 100 polishes a brush contact surface portion of a commutator of a DC motor with a brush for a fuel pump and includes: a disc shape member 101; at least one slit 102 provided on a flat surface at one end side 101-1 of the disc shape member 101; a cavity part 103 which is a recess provided on the one end side 101-1 flat surface of the disc shape member 101 and has a shape of a cylinder coaxially arranged with the disc shape member 101; a polishing layer 104 provided on the one end side 101-1 flat surface of the disc shape member 101; and a shaft part 105 which protrudes from the other end side 101-2 flat surface of the disc shape member 101 and has a shape of a cylinder coaxially arranged with the disc shape member 101.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
