PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new type of polymerization control agent which is ecological, causes no problem of odor, corrosion and moisture absorption, and has effective capability of sufficiently eliminating the risk of polymerization reaction going out of control in solution polymerization.SOLUTION: There is provided a method of producing a polymer by radical polymerization by dissolving a radical polymerizable compound in a solvent in the presence of a radical polymerization control agent. The concentration of the radical polymerizable compound in the polymerization reaction solution is 50 wt.% or more and less than 90 wt.%.
