PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adjuvant comprising aluminum, an oligonucleotide and a polycation.SOLUTION: An immunological adjuvant comprises an aluminum salt, an immunostimulatory oligonucleotide and a polycationic polymer, where the oligonucleotide and the polymer ideally associate with each other to form a complex. The adjuvant can be included in a composition with an immunogen, e.g., to elicit an immune response that protects against a bacterial or fungal disease. An immunogenic composition comprises (i) the adjuvant of the present invention and (ii) an immunogen. The immunogen can be: adsorbed to the aluminum salt in the adjuvant; adsorbed to the oligonucleotide/polymer complex in the adjuvant; and/or adsorbed to neither the aluminum salt nor complex.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
