PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external-combustion Brayton cycle engine capable of stably supplying electric power without influence of the amount of insolation while using solar heat.SOLUTION: An external-combustion Brayton cycle engine using monoatomic gas as a first working medium (M1), comprises: a solar heater (3) heating the first working medium from a compressor (1); a hydrogen combustor (5) heating the first working medium from the compressor by hydrogen gas and oxygen gas; a hydrogen-oxygen generator (19) generating hydrogen gas and oxygen gas by electrolysis of water; a hydrogen flow passage switching device (25) selectively communicating a hydrogen tank (23) storing hydrogen with the hydrogen-oxygen generator or the hydrogen combustor; and an oxygen flow passage switching device (35) selectively communicating an oxygen tank (33) storing oxygen with the hydrogen-oxygen generator or the hydrogen combustor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
