PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the index value and control limit of bug density appropriate in software management.SOLUTION: A software quality standard computing device: computes the basic index value and upper and lower limit values of the basic management limit of bug density in development software in the past to draw them on a basic U management diagram; computes a development scale after correction from comparison between development difficulty in past development software and development difficulty in new development software; and computes a basic index value and the upper and lower limit values of the basic management limit corresponding to the development scale after the correction from the basic U management diagram as an index value and the upper and lower limit values of the management limit for new development software. This allows an index value and a management limit corresponding to difficulty in new development software to be computed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
