FIELD: chemistry.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a chemical industry, primarily to production of glass-polymer composite materials. Glass-polymer composite material comprises glass-cloth filler impregnated with polytetrafluoroethylene. Content of uniformly distributed in volume of polytetrafluoroethylene in glass-cloth filler ranges from 5 to 10 wt%. Length of chain of molecules of polytetrafluoroethylene ranges from 10 to 50, and size of cluster of polytetrafluoroethylene in glass-cloth filler ranges from 10 to 1,500 nm. Method of making glass-polymer composite material consists comprises impregnating glass-cloth filler with a solution of polytetrafluoroethylene and then drying impregnated glass-cloth filler from solvent. Solution of polytetrafluoroethylene used is a solution of telomere of tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) in acetone or ethyl acetate or butyl chloride or pentafluorochlorobenzene with content of telomere from 2 to 5.0 wt% in solution. Production of solution of telomere of tetrafluoroethylene for impregnating glass-cloth filler is carried out using a radiation-chemical method in telomerisation reaction of unsaturated tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) in liquid medium of telogen at temperature 15-20 °C, which is initiated with ionising radiation with gamma-quantaCo with molar ratio of TFE/telogen = (0.5-20)/100. Before impregnation, glass-cloth undergoes acid etching.EFFECT: invention enables to achieve higher heat resistance of glass-polymer composite materials, their stability during operation in aggressive media, provides high level of hydrophobic properties of said articles.2 cl, 1 tbl, 5 ex |
