The present invention relates to an electronic device including a voice recognition function which can increase convenience of a user and usability of an electronic device by realizing an environment for supporting a recording function in an electronic device, and an operating method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method for operating the electronic device comprises the following steps: identifying a speaker from an acoustic signal; determining a direction of the speaker; providing a user interface relating the direction to the speaker; and updating and providing the user interface.
