PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system that can suitably set an address to each of plural communication devices configuring a hierarchical structure.SOLUTION: A communication system has plural communication devices, and has two or more hierarchical structures each of which is configured by connecting one or more relative lower communication devices to a relatively upper communication device. In the communication system, the communication device to which the lower communication devices are connected successively performs an operation of powering one of the lower communication devices and transmitting an address to the powered lower communication device on each of the connected lower communication devices.
