Class 64(1) In a steam generator air heating system, air to be passed to the combustion space of the steam generator by way of a main air heater 10 heated by the flue gases, is augmented by and has its temperature raised by auxiliary air which prior to its admixture with the main air has been heated in an auxiliary air heater 6 through which a portion of the said flue gases from the steam generator combustion space are passed. In the form shown, the auxilliary air heater 6 is located in a valve-controlled by-pass duct 5 in the steam generator flue, and air may be supplied thereto by the main air blower 12 or as shown, by a separate blower 7. |
