In a computer system in which it takes time to detect changes in the mounted state of a PCI device, if failure occurs in an active system server immediately after removal of a PCI device of an auxiliary system server and cold-standby system switching occurs, with respect to a request from system switching software for the acquisition of PCI-device configuration information, the response given is for a PCI device configuration from before detecting removal of the PCI device. As a result, despite the fact that in reality the PCI device configurations of the active system server and the auxiliary system server do not correspond, the system switching software mistakenly determines that the correspondence check of the configuration-information of the PCI devices is OK and fails cold-standby system switching. The present invention is configured so that with respect to a request from system switching software for the acquisition of PCI-device configuration information, the response given is for configuration information which reflects all changes in the mounting state of a PCI device, such changes having occurred prior to the time at which the configuration-information acquisition request was received. |
