A cartilage diagnosis device 1 is provided with: an optical unit 2 including an OCT optical system; a probe including an optical mechanism connected to the optical unit 2 and configured so that a distal-end part thereof is insertable into an articular cavity, the optical mechanism for guiding light from the optical unit 2 to cartilage and causing the light to scan, and a weight mechanism capable of loading a predetermined weight on the cartilage; a control computation unit 6 for controlling driving of the weight mechanism and the optical mechanism, processing an optical interference signal outputted from the optical unit 2 on the basis of the driving of the weight mechanism and the optical mechanism, performing computation whereby a change in a predetermined dynamic characteristic quantity accompanying deformation in the cartilage due to weight loading is correlated with a tomographic position of the cartilage, and computing the degree of damage of cartilage tissue on the basis of the change in the dynamic characteristic quantity; and a display device 8 for displaying the degree of damage of the cartilage tissue in the form of a tomographic visualization. |
