Provided are a terminal-based communication method and a terminal. The terminal-based communication method comprises: establishing, by a designated terminal, a connection with a communication base station and/or a core network, so as to form a micro cell base station based on the designated terminal; and conducting, by other terminals, data exchange with the communication base station and/or the core network through the micro cell base station. The technical solution of the present invention can increase the interaction with a cellular network and the data transmission rate, while guaranteeing the quality of service and the security, and can effectively reduce costs at the same time.
