<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder resin for toner which is excellent in storage stability of toner while satisfying low-temperature fixability of toner, and an electrophotographic toner which contains the binder resin. <P>SOLUTION: A binder resin for toner contains amorphous polyester and crystalline polyester obtained by polycondensation of an alcohol component containing α, ω-aliphatic diol with a carboxylic acid component. The amorphous polyester, in which a carboxylic acid component containing a carboxylic acid compound having at least a furan ring and/or an alcohol component containing alcohol having a furan ring are used as raw material monomers, is obtained by polycondensation of the carboxylic acid component with the alcohol component.
