The present invention relates to a mobile card reader attached to a mobile terminal and a paying method using the same. According to the present invention, the mobile card reader comprises: a magnetic strip reader (MSR) unit for reading card information recorded on a magnetic strip card; an IC reading unit for reading recorded information from an IC chip card; a non-contact reading unit for reading the information recorded from a non-contact card; and, a communication terminal unit for transmitting the card information read from one among the MSR unit, the IC reading unit, and the non-contact card reading unit to a mobile device combined by wired or wireless means with the mobile card reader. The mobile card reader of the present invention can perform payment conveniently not only for the conventional MSR-based card or IC-based card but also various smart pay systems using NFC and RF by linking with an application installed on a mobile device such as smartphone. |
