<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a marimo carbon, capable of designing a fine structure of a graphene sheet according to a targeted supporting state of a catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: The marimo carbon having substantially a spherical shape includes: diamond fine particles, the surface of which is oxidized; a transition metal catalyst supported on the surface of the diamond fine particles; and a lot of carbon nanofilament grown in a marimo (ball seaweed) shape by radially expanding in an isotropic direction from the transition metal catalyst. The carbon nanofilament has a primary structure such that the graphene sheets each formed in substantially a conical cup shape are laminated in an axial direction of a circular cone to linearly grow. The marimo carbon consists of the carbon nanofilament that has a distribution in which an angle distribution of a half top angle of the circular cone in the graphene sheet is relatively aligned. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
