A telescopic girder for supporting shuttering comprises an outer box section part constructed of two opposed channels 4, 5 the edges of the flanges of the channels overlapping and being welded together at 9 and the upper channel 4 being cambered so that the top surface of the girder will be flattened under the weight of the concrete. The inner part is of 1 section having the upper flanges 12, Fig. 4, and the upper part of the webs 14 thickened and the flanges 12 inclined upwards. The inner part is also cambered. The inner and outer parts are locked together by an externally threaded tube 16 engaging a nut 17 resting on the bottom of the box girder. |
