PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing apparatus configured to prevent an image defect, such as black stripe, after being left for a long time without performing development operation.SOLUTION: A developing apparatus 4 includes a developing roller 4a with developer including toner carried on a surface thereof, so as to pass through a contact area γ with a thinning blade 4b in contact with the surface of the developing roller 4a in a rotation axis direction of the developing roller 4a. The developing apparatus 4 conveys the developer to a developing area α where the surface of the developing roller 4a faces a surface of a photoreceptor 1, to develop a latent image formed on the photoreceptor 1 with the toner. The developing roller 4a includes control means 301a having a driving mechanism for enabling both forward and backward rotation, and controlling rotation of the developing roller 4a. The control means 301a controls rotation of the developing roller 4a so that the developing roller 4a is rotated forward and backward a plurality of times before the initial developing operation when a predetermined time passes without rotating the developing roller 4a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
