PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector in which the detection state of a detection object is readily confirmed.SOLUTION: A projector 11 comprises: a projection optical device 33 for projecting an image; an outer housing 2; and a detector (camera) 51 for detecting a detection object in a projection range of an image. The projection optical device 33 includes a reflection mirror for reflecting an incident image and projecting the image to a projected surface. The outer housing 2 includes a pair of side surface parts 2A, 2B respectively crossing in a vertical direction and facing each other. One side surface part (top surface part) 2A of the pair of side surface parts 2A, 2B has an inclined surface (first inclined surface) 2A1 inclining in a direction approaching to the other side surface part (bottom surface part)2B as the inclined surface 2A1 proceeds in the advancing direction of the image reflected by the reflection mirror. The inclined surface 2A1 is formed with a first opening 2A12 through which the image reflected by the reflection mirror passes. The detector 51 is disposed adjacently to the first opening 2A12 in the inclined surface 2A1.
