As a measuring circuit capable of being connected to a capacitive touch-sensitive panel, the panel includes: a plurality of detecting electrodes; and a common protective electrode adapted to measure variations in the instantaneous electric capacity of the detecting electrodes by selectively responding to proximity to conductive bodies, wherein the detecting electrodes are biased at a fixed voltage relative to the common protective electrode. The measuring circuit comprises: a power management integrated circuit including a voltage source generating a modulation voltage that is available in a protective terminal of the power management integrated circuit electrically connected to the protective electrode; one or more slave integrated circuits separately connected to the detecting electrodes, and including a capacity-to-digital converter or a plurality of capacity-to-digital converters which are operatively arranged for generating digital measuring codes representing the instantaneous electric capacity of the detecting electrodes; and a means for varying a frequency of the modulation voltage. A corresponding method for measuring the instantaneous electric capacity of the detecting electrodes in the touch-sensitive panel is further provided. |
