Provided is an ultrasound imaging apparatus with which it is possible to suppress vertical stripe patterns even in the case in which high-speed imaging is performed with coarse transmission intervals. When a receiving unit 1201 receives a high-speed imaging mode instruction, an aperture synthesis unit 1300 adds up a predetermined number (N) of phasing outputs obtained from reflected ultrasound of different transmission beams for the same reception focal point, thus suppressing the appearance of stripe patterns in an image. In order to generate N phasing outputs for each reception focal point, the control unit 401 determines the required number (M) of reception scan lines to be set by a receive beamformer 603 and gives an instruction to the receive beamformer 603 accordingly. |
