PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-carrier optical transmission system in which increase in the number of processing for monitoring the signal quality of photocarrier is suppressed, when a flexible frequency grid is introduced.SOLUTION: A multi-carrier optical transmission system has an optical transmitter 110 for housing a client signal in an optical transmission frame, and transmitting a unit optical transmission frame, i.e., one unit of an optical transmission frame, by means of a predetermined optical subcarrier, out of a plurality of optical subcarriers arranged continuously on the frequency axis, and a photoreceiver 120 for receiving the plurality of optical subcarriers, reconfiguring the unit optical transmission frame from the predetermined optical subcarrier, and monitoring the signal quality by the unit optical transmission frame. |
