PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hard coating capable of manufacturing a long life cutting tool, a cutting tool and a method for manufacturing the hard coating.SOLUTION: The hard coating comprises a plurality of crystal grains and an amorphous phase between the crystal grains. The crystal grains have a structure formed by alternately laminating a TiAlN layer having a fcc structure and a TiAlN layer having a fcc structure. The Al composition ratio x of the TiAlN layer satisfies the relationship of 0≤x<1, the Al composition ratio y of the TiAlN layer satisfies the relationship of 0
