The purpose of the present invention is to provide a composite semipermeable membrane which has practical water permeability and removal performance, while achieving high boron removal rate after contact with chlorine. A composite semipermeable membrane according to the present invention comprises a base, a porous supporting layer and a separation function layer, which are laminated in this order. The separation function layer contains a crosslinked wholly aromatic polyamide, and the molar proportion of the molar fraction of the amide groups (the amide group rate) relative to the total molar fraction of the polyfunctional amines and the polyfunctional aromatic halides in the crosslinked wholly aromatic polyamide is from 0.86 to 1.20 (inclusive). |
