Customized application for proximity transactions

A method and system for customizing a mobile application running on a mobile communication device of a user. In one implementation, the method includes providing the mobile application to the mobile communication device of the user, the mobile application having a generic platform; determining a special interest group (SIG) that is affiliated with the user; and customizing the generic platform of the mobile application based on information specific to the special interest group (SIG) that is affiliated with the user.

1. A method for providing a customized mobile application running on a mobile-device of a user, the method comprising:
providing a secure element coupled to a mobile device that has a visual display, a first processor, a first communication channel which supports voice and data interactions at a first radio transceiver at the mobile device and a mobile application; exchanging data associated with the mobile application between the mobile device and a management server, wherein execution of the mobile application permits a user of the mobile device to conduct a near field communication (NFC) transaction with an NFC terminal, initiating execution of a secure element application by a secure element processor in response to a near field communication signal from the NFC terminal, the execution of the secure element application automatically sending an identification code from the secure element to the NFC terminal and further wherein the NFC terminal sends the identification code to a management server for processing; and displaying customized information at the mobile application received from the management server, wherein the management server retrieves customized information associated with a special interest group (SIG).
