The present invention provides a system and a method for recognizing a traffic sign board, which lets the vehicle′s headlight irradiate an upward beam and sets the upward beam irradiation scope for the upward beam to be irradiated to the object estimated to be a traffic sign board when an object estimated to be a traffic sign board exists in a night front image shot by a vehicle front camera, and recognizes the sign board information indicated on the traffic sign board when the object estimated to be a traffic sign board is definitely confirmed to be a traffic sign board through the irradiation of the upward beam. |
