PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the temperature of an engine from excessively increasing if a failure occurs to a grille shutter and the grille shutter is fixed to a closed state in a hybrid electric vehicle including the grille shutter.SOLUTION: A vehicle comprises: an engine; a battery; a second motor-generator; a grille shutter; and an ECU. The second motor-generator generates a driving force using electric power stored in the battery. The grille shutter can be opened or closed, and introduces air outside of the vehicle into the vehicle by being closed during running of the vehicle. The ECU controls the engine, the second motor-generator, and the grille shutter. The ECU suppresses the start of the engine if a close failure that the grille shutter is fixed to a closed state, as compared with a case in which the close failure is not detected. |
