PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector excellent in insertability, by preventing imperfect contact or damage due to prying at the time of connection.SOLUTION: A connector has a socket connector to be mounted on a substrate, and a plug connector 20 for connection with the socket connector. The socket connector has a contact housing including the fitting grooves formed, in a direction perpendicular to the substrate surface, at the opposite ends of a plurality of socket contacts in the arrangement direction, and a socket housing, i.e., a sidewall surrounding the contact housing, where the height from the bottom surface of a short side facing the fitting groove is lower than a long side facing the contact part of the plurality of socket contacts, and the contact housing. The plug connector is provided, at the opposite ends in the arrangement direction of a plug contacts 210, with fitting protrusions 222a, b protruding from the inner peripheral surface. Furthermore, the connector has a plug housing which is fitted in a gap between the contact housing and socket housing. |
