PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting element emitting light in a near-infrared region and having high efficiency and a long life, and further to provide a light-emitting device provided with the light-emitting elements, an authentication device and an electronic apparatus.SOLUTION: A light-emitting device 100 is provided with light-emitting elements 1A having anodes 3, cathodes 8 and light-emitting layers 5 being provided among the anodes 3 and the cathodes 8 and emitting light of near-infrared regions by causing currents to flow among the anodes 3 and the cathodes 8. The light-emitting device 100 emits visible light of 5 cd/cmor more when causing the currents to flow among the anodes 3 and the cathodes 8 with current density of 300A/cmor less.
