PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backup board for drilling which is formed by using resin-impregnated paper impregnated with resin, is superior in productivity and also in surface flatness. SOLUTION: The backup board for drilling has a paper board layer 10 and resin-impregnated paper layers 11 and 12. The resin-impregnated paper layers 11 and 12 are sheets of paper boards having been subjected to resin impregnation processing, and disposed as outermost layers on both surfaces of the paper board layer 10, respectively. When a plate to be processed such as a printed circuit board is drilled using a drill, the backup board 1 for drilling is disposed beneath the plate to be processed one over the other and the tip of the drill is moved beyond the portion of the plate to be processed to scrape the backup board 1 for drilling.
