PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water cutoff member for an expansion gap, which can sufficiently enhance the rigidity of a support member in a bridge longitudinal direction while ensuring the stretching properties of the same in a bridge width direction. SOLUTION: The water cutoff member 10 for the expansion gap is formed of the support member 22 for supporting a water cutoff sheet 23 and a protective layer 24, the water cutoff sheet 23 for cutting off the water in the expansion gap, and the protective layer 24 mounted on the water cutoff sheet 23. The support member 22 is set up by inserting a honeycomb structure 33 into an expandable foam layer 30. The honeycomb structure 33 is formed of a plurality of cells 32 divided with partition walls 31. A composite structure 36 is expandable/contractible in a bridge axial direction L depending on a change of a distance of the expansion gap. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
