An assembled modular portable building (1), is fortified against armament attack by sand bags (28) loaded on a pallet (6) on which the parts of the building were transported to its place of use. The pallet (6) is supported on legs (16) which are packed with the building parts on the pallet, together with bracing struts (18), side walls (24) and a cover (26).
