PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program editing method for displaying recipe information of a broadcasted cooking program in a form that meets user's needs, and to provide a television receiver. SOLUTION: A storage medium 5 stores prescribed values as "whether to use less salt", "whether to use less oil", "allergy-provoking ingredient", "whether to have less calorie", "sex", "age", "the number of family members" and "screen layout of recipe information" set as user information in advance by a user. An antenna 1 receives a broadcast wave. A tuner 2 performs demodulation processing of the received broadcast wave, or the like. A video/sound processing part 3 separates data of video and sound from the demodulated data. A recipe information processing part 4 extracts the recipe information from an image of the separated video data by character recognition processing, and edits the extracted recipe information on the basis of the user information stored in the storage medium 5.
