<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structural birefringent wavelength plate having excellent mechanical properties, heat resistance and chemical resistance and high manufacturing yield. <P>SOLUTION: The structural birefringent wavelength plate has a substrate and a birefringent part formed by using a composition containing a polysilane, a silicone compound and a polygermane and having a recessed and projecting periodic structure wherein wall parts and groove parts are periodically repeated. Preferably, the structural birefringent wavelength plate can exhibit a prescribed phase difference to light having a prescribed wavelength by optimizing the refractive index of the birefringent part and a pitch, a height and a packing density of the wall part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
