PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector capable of alleviating insertion-coupling force with a counterpart connector and preventing slanted insertion coupling. SOLUTION: The connector is provided with a concave part 58c at a first female housing and an engagement protrusion 77 at a second female housing, respectively, for locking the second female housing with a front face in an insertion-coupling direction of a second insulator part 71 positioned further forward from a front face in an insertion-coupling direction of a first insulator part 51. A lock-releasing piece 26d for unlocking engagement of the concave part 58c with the engagement protrusion 77 is provided at a male connector. When the male connector is separated from the first and the second housings, the second housing is made engaged with the male connector to move the second housing in a separating direction together with the male connector, and, a protrusion for releasing engagement with the male connector is formed at the second housing, for moving the second housing in a separating direction together with the male connector, and releasing engagement with the male connector when the front face in a connector insertion-coupling direction of the first insulator part 51 and that of the insulator part 71 have shifted toward the connector insertion-coupling direction.
