<p>In a magnetic bearing device in which a rotor is supported for rotation, recovery after a touchdown in the touchdown bearings during rotation is improved by providing, in addition to a basic controller module (220), an impact recovery controller module (240) that delivers control signals specifically adapted to control the rotor position in a touchdown situation. The recovery controller module (240) takes rotor dynamics into account. In particular, this module may act to damp a whirling motion of the rotor. The output signals of the two controller modules are combined by a weighting module (290) in a weighted manner according to a weight factor that indicates occurrence of a touchdown situation.</p> |
