<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive motor-powered stapler for forming a series of surgical fasteners in a tissue. <P>SOLUTION: The surgical stapler comprises a casing with a fixed handle; a movable handle attached to the casing, selectively movable from a first position with a gap to the fixed handle to a second position closer to the fixed handle; and a driving assembly including a power supply and a motor to be engaged with a connection member. The connection member is movably connected to the movable handle. The movable handle is moved to a third position by operating the motor. The motor is disposed together with the connection member in the driving assembly so that the operation of the motor advances the connection member and a shooting shaft is advanced thereby to dispose and deform surgical fasteners. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
