PURPOSE: A shock absorber using permanent magnets and an electromagnet is provided to prevent passengers from being hurt by absorbing impact by changing repulsive force according to the speed of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A shock absorber using permanent magnets and an electromagnet is installed absorbs impact by using repulsion between the permanent magnets having same polarity. The bumper comprises a first and a second permanent magnet(2,5) and an electromagnet(6). The first permanent magnet is installed on a bumper face(1). The second permanent magnet is installed in the front of a shock absorbing foam(4) of the front side of a car body(3). The second permanent magnet has the same polarity as the first permanent magnet.
